1998 Butterscotch Gibson Les Paul Custom Shop Historic 1958 RI

Mint condition. No wear. Comes with the original black Custom Shop case with CS Logo and burgundy lining. It plays wonderfully on a medium sized 58 D shaped neck with ample "meat" on the radius. The top shows very good movement and the fretboard is a real beauty as well. It is well balanced and weighs 8 lbs 15 oz (4.5 kg). Serial # 8 8157. You just can't go wrong with these late ninety model 58 Reissue historics. 

2003 Gibson Les Paul 1960 RI with a Brazilian Rosewood Fretboard

According to Gibson's records, only 113 BRW 1960 models were built for world wide distribution. Guitar is in mint/near mint condition. Getting your hands on a 1960 BRW model is like finding a needle in a haystack. It has a few BONUS items: Original NOS PAF covers on the original Burstbucker pickups, and an original 50's nut on the toggle switch. These great parts enhance the look and Historic qualities of an already outstanding guitar. The PAF covers were never on a guitar previously and original historic pup covers are included. Built during the first year of Gibson's Custom Shop these are well known to be among the best built Les Pauls ever. This is one of the 200 or so painted by Tom Murphy before his departure from Gibson and most certainly one of the last 59 Reissue models sporting the Custom Shop Headstock Design Logo at the top of the neck. It weighs in under 9 pounds at 8 lbs 14 oz ( 4.02 kg ), serial # 9 4040. The flamed maple top is a sight to behold and looks great from any and every angle. The fretboard is a beautiful piece of rosewood with rich dark grain running the length. It is in excellent + condition with a few shallow players marks, a little fade to the hardware, and very nominal fret wear. Never broken and in need of no repairs it is completely 100% stock original with long neck tenon & 57 Classic PAF's. The package comes complete with near mint Gibson brown hardshell case (pink lining and cover blanket) plus the warranty card, case candy and hangtags shown. The switch tip that I left out of the photos is included as well.

This Custom Shop model has one of the nicest Maple Quilttops I have ever seen. Add to that the Korina body and 59 Neck Profile and you have a very rare combination. The nicely grained dark rosewood fretboard is a perfect match for this extremely unique guitar. You will find a collector grade guitar in mint/n mint condition that every player would be proud to own. It comes with the original black Custom Shop case with CS Logo and burgundy lining plus all the paperwork and case candy shown. Weight 9 lbs 9 oz . 

The pickguard was professionally installed with a caulk-like material so that it could be removed without a trace. It was not screwed down. The screw heads were cut off and glued into place as well. At the request of several I have removed the pickguard for inspection and photos. Please see the last two photos below. There are no holes or signs that a pickguard was ever installed. Quite ingenious! I will include all the hardware so that you may re-install it if you wish.

1994 Gibson Les Paul 1959 Ri - Tom Murphy Painted

A mint condition, Tom Murphy painted, collectors grade Gibson Les Paul Standard R9 built by the Custom Shop during its first year. It weighs 9 lbs 1 oz ( 4.12 kg) and the serial number is very cool in and of itself...9 4059...the 59th - 59 of 1994. The flamed maple top has nice movement. It plays straight and has one of the densest rosewood fretboards I have ever seen. The fit and finish is excellent. It has been played but remains in mint/n. mint, like new condition. Original covers were replace professionally but are included. In addition to the Gibson brown hardshell case with pink lining and cover blanket you also get the case candy and hangtags shown, plus the original sales receipt and switch tip that I left out of the photos.

This is the  11th Les Paul Goldtop built by the Custom Shop during its first year of existence and 1 of only 15 Goldtops painted by Tom Murphy that year. The "Headstock Design" Custom Shop logo at the base of the peghead is found only on 1993 and VERY early 94 model Historics. The fit and finish on these early CS models is regarded to be as good as it gets. It was recently set-up and the action is set low. It plays straight on a nicely grained rosewood fretboard. The finish is in excellent/excellent+ condition but it is not mint. There are just a few indentations in the lacquer and a finish check at the one volume knob. Weight 9 lbs 5 oz ( 4.225 kg). Original Gibson brown hardshell case with pink lining and velour cover blanket included.
